WORDPRESS MANAGEMENT

Managed WordPress Maintenance & Security

Core and plugin updates, security hardening, performance tuning, and malware cleanup — done by a SysAdmin, not a checklist. WordPress is rarely safe out of the box; managed maintenance is what makes it stay that way.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Core capabilities

  • Core + plugin updates

WordPress core, themes, and plugins reviewed and rolled out on a staging environment first, then promoted with rollback ready. Premium plugin licenses tracked and renewed.

  • Security hardening

Locked-down logins, restricted XML-RPC, file-system permissions audited, MFA on admin, and continuous malware scanning. The defaults the vendor probably should have shipped.

  • Performance tuning

Caching strategy, image optimization, database cleanup, and front-end profiling. Fast WordPress is a maintenance discipline, not a one-time setup.

  • Malware cleanup

When something does get in: full remediation, infected-file removal, database review, post-cleanup hardening, and root-cause notes so it does not happen the same way twice.

WHY IT MATTERS

Hosting alone isn’t WordPress management

Hosting runs the server. WordPress management runs the application — patch plugins, audit logins, tune cache, deal with malware if it lands. Both matter, and a host that does great Apache tuning is not necessarily checking whether your contact-form plugin shipped a CVE last Tuesday.

We do both. Our managed WordPress hosting and managed WordPress maintenance can be bundled, but they don't have to be. If you already have hosting you like, we'll manage WordPress on top of it — what we won't do is hand-wave the maintenance loop because the host says they include it.

WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY BUYING

Hosting isn’t management

Hosting runs the server

Apache and PHP tuning, uptime, the stack underneath. A great host keeps the server fast — but won’t notice that your contact-form plugin shipped a CVE last Tuesday.

Management runs the application

Patching plugins on staging, auditing logins, tuning cache, and handling malware if it lands. We do both — and you don’t have to bundle them; we’ll manage WordPress on the host you already like.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Will updates break my site?

They can — which is why we test every update on a staging copy first, run a smoke check (front-end, login, key forms), and only then promote with rollback ready. The point of managed maintenance is to absorb the breakage risk so you do not.

What about premium plugins like Yoast Premium or Advanced Custom Fields Pro?

License management is included. We track renewals, register the keys on your sites, and audit the plugins themselves — premium does not mean safe, and we have seen high-profile premium plugins ship critical vulnerabilities. They get the same scrutiny as free ones.

What happens when my site gets infected?

Containment first (take the site offline if needed), then full remediation: identify the entry point, remove infected files, audit the database and user table, restore from a known-clean backup if needed, and harden the gap. Included in managed plans; billable at our standard engineering rate for one-off engagements.

Do I have to host with you?

No. We manage WordPress on any modern host — SiteGround, Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, your own AWS. Hosting and management are separate offerings that pair well but don't require each other.

Do you handle multilingual or WooCommerce sites?

Yes — common stacks (WPML, Polylang for translation; WooCommerce for ecommerce). WooCommerce in particular needs careful update discipline because plugin compatibility across the cart, payment, and shipping ecosystem is unforgiving.

How is this different from a plugin like ManageWP or MainWP?

Those tools are dashboards we use; they are not the work. Anyone can install MainWP and click "update all" — the value is in the staging, testing, security audit, and the engineer making judgement calls about when not to update something because it would break a dependent plugin.
