At Bytes Unlimited, the privacy of our visitors is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website (https://www.bytesunlimited.com), how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. By using the website you agree to the terms described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the website.
Who We Are
Bytes Unlimited is a managed IT and cybersecurity provider based in Wallkill, NY, serving customers in the New York region. Our website address is https://www.bytesunlimited.com.
Bytes Unlimited is the trade name under which Anthony J Affee, a sole proprietorship registered in New York, conducts business at https://www.bytesunlimited.com. References to "Bytes Unlimited", "we", "us", and "our" throughout this Privacy Policy refer to that entity.
What Information We Collect
Contact form submissions. When you submit our contact form we collect the data you provide — typically your name, email address, optional phone number, optional company name, the service you're inquiring about, and your message. We also collect your IP address and browser user-agent string at the moment of submission to help identify abuse or spam.
Server log files. Like most websites, our server keeps log files that include IP addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider, date/time stamps, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks. We use these to analyze trends, administer the site, and detect abuse. These logs are not directly linked to personally identifiable information.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4). We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID G-X9T9RKMKLP) to understand which pages on our website are useful to visitors. We run Google Analytics with Consent Mode v2 with all categories set to "denied" by default. In practice, that means Google Analytics receives cookieless pings — basic visit counts, page views, and approximate geographic region — but does not set _ga / _gid cookies, does not store a client-side identifier, and does not build a cross-session or cross-device profile of you. Behavioral metrics + session replay (Microsoft Clarity). We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how visitors use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay — so we can improve the site's clarity, fix usability issues, and understand which content is useful. Clarity is initialized in cookieless mode (the same Consent Mode v2 denied posture as Google Analytics), which means no persistent _clck or _clsk identifiers are set on your browser and individual sessions are not linked across visits or devices. Clarity is set to a relaxed masking mode, so public, non-sensitive page content is captured to help us analyze how visitors interact with it. Regardless of this setting, the content you type into form fields and your selections in drop-down menus are masked by Microsoft in every masking mode and cannot be unmasked — so the actual text of your name, email, phone, company, and message is never captured in a replay; only interaction patterns (typing, pausing, submitting) are visible. Our Clarity project is linked to Google Analytics and Google Ads for aggregate trend analysis. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses this data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement. (opens in new tab)
Tag management (Google Tag Manager). We use Google Tag Manager to load and manage the measurement tags described above.
We request your consent via a banner before any analytics or advertising cookies are set; you can change your choice at any time via the cookie-settings link.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide solely to respond to your inquiry, deliver the services you've requested, and protect the website against abuse. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Cookies and Tracking
Cookies are small files that a website may place on your device to store information about your visit. With Consent Mode v2 set to "denied" by default for analytics, advertising, functionality, and personalization storage, neither our Google Analytics integration nor our Microsoft Clarity integration sets any cookies on your browser. The only storage marked as "granted" is security_storage, which is reserved for things like fraud-prevention session state and is not used to track you.
You can disable cookies entirely in your browser settings at any time. You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling either will not prevent you from using the website.
For information about how Google handles data collected via Google Analytics, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google Analytics safeguards your data.
Embedded Content From Other Websites
Articles or pages on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, or articles from other sites). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited that other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
How Long We Retain Your Data
Contact form submissions and the associated metadata are retained in the recipient mailbox for as long as is reasonably useful to respond to or resolve the inquiry — typically not longer than is necessary for our records. Server log files are typically rotated and deleted by our hosting provider on a rolling basis.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
You may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, or request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. To make a request, email [email protected]. This does not include data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where We Send Your Data
Contact form submissions are delivered via Google Workspace and stored in the recipient mailbox. The form submission may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We do not share submitted data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the website and our business. These may include our hosting provider, email and productivity provider (Google Workspace), and content delivery / security providers. Each operates under their own privacy policies.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or revise this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last revised" date at the top of this page.
