# Google Cloud Partner & Migrations

 Google Cloud Platform migrations, cost optimization, and infrastructure-as-code — alongside our existing AWS practice. GCP excels at data, AI/ML, and global networking; we'll tell you when it's the right fit and when AWS is.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

## Core capabilities

* ![](/icons/icon-cloud.svg)
### Migrations to GCP
From on-prem VMware, AWS, or Azure — dependency mapping, cut-over runbooks, parallel-run validation. Migrate Compute Engine VMs, refactor to Cloud Run / GKE where it makes sense, retire workloads that should not move at all.
* ![](/icons/icon-managed-it.svg)
### Data + AI on BigQuery and Vertex
BigQuery is GCP's flagship — serverless data warehouse most clients migrate to from on-prem SQL Server / Redshift. Vertex AI for managed ML pipelines, plus Gemini API integration for LLM-based features. The strongest reason to consider GCP.
* ![](/icons/icon-cloud.svg)
### Kubernetes + serverless
GKE (Kubernetes was invented at Google) for managed clusters, Cloud Run for serverless containers, and Cloud Functions for event-driven code. Anthos for clients with multi-cloud / hybrid requirements.
* ![](/icons/icon-security.svg)
### IAM + org-policy hardening
Org-level guardrails, least-privilege IAM, audit logging, and policy-as-code — security defaults that hold up under SOC 2, HIPAA, FedRAMP, ISO 27001 audits. Sensible from day one, not retrofitted at year two.

WHY IT MATTERS

## When Google Cloud beats AWS

Google Cloud is a serious AWS alternative for specific workloads, not a generic cloud-of-second-choice. Where it wins: anything data-heavy (BigQuery's serverless model is genuinely best-in-class), ML/AI work (Vertex AI plus the Gemini ecosystem), Kubernetes (GKE is the reference implementation), and global networking (Premium Tier routes traffic over Google's private backbone instead of the public internet).

Pricing-wise, GCP's sustained-use discounts apply automatically — no upfront commitment required — and committed-use discounts are competitive with AWS Reserved Instances. For SMBs with predictable workloads, the bill often comes in lower than the AWS equivalent. Our job is the pragmatic call: BigQuery + GKE on GCP, S3 + Lambda on AWS, both is fine if it actually fits.

CHOOSING A CLOUD

## GCP or AWS? An honest read

### Where Google Cloud wins

Data and analytics (BigQuery’s serverless model has no real AWS equivalent), ML and AI (Vertex AI plus the Gemini ecosystem), Kubernetes (GKE is the reference implementation), and global delivery over Google’s private Premium-Tier backbone. If you’re already on Workspace, the shared identity layer makes GCP the natural fit.

### Where AWS wins

Catalog breadth, the most mature SaaS marketplace, and most legacy enterprise migrations. AWS is our deepest practice — when it’s the better tool for your workload, we’ll say so rather than steer you to GCP.

### Running both

Some workloads on AWS, some on GCP, some on-prem — Anthos gives one Kubernetes control plane across all three. Pragmatic multi-cloud where it earns its keep, not the marketing version.

COMMON QUESTIONS

## Frequently Asked Questions

AWS vs Google Cloud — when does GCP actually make more sense?

GCP wins for data-warehouse and analytics workloads (BigQuery has no real AWS equivalent — Redshift is the closest and is markedly less elegant), for Kubernetes (GKE is the reference), for ML/AI (Vertex AI plus Gemini), and for global content / API delivery (Premium Tier networking is genuinely faster cross-region). AWS still wins for catalog breadth, mature SaaS marketplace, and most legacy enterprise migrations.

Is GCP cheaper than AWS?

Depends on the workload, but often yes for steady-state compute thanks to automatic sustained-use discounts (no Reserved Instance commitment required) and aggressive committed-use pricing. Storage egress is one place where the math sometimes favors AWS. We model both before recommending — no religious wars.

Can you migrate us from AWS to GCP, or set up multi-cloud?

Yes to both. AWS-to-GCP migrations are bread-and-butter: VPC peering during transition, gradual workload shift, IAM federation. For multi-cloud (some workloads on AWS, some on GCP, some on-prem), Anthos is the Google answer — same Kubernetes control plane across all three. Pragmatic multi-cloud, not the marketing version.

Does GCP cover HIPAA, FedRAMP, and PCI?

Yes. Google Cloud has HIPAA BAA coverage across most services, PCI DSS attestation, SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001 / 27017 / 27018, and FedRAMP High authorization. Compliance coverage on GCP is on par with AWS for SMB and mid-market use cases.

How does Google Cloud fit alongside Google Workspace?

They're separate products with a single identity layer (Google Workspace identities work in GCP via Cloud IAM, and Workspace admin policies extend cleanly to Cloud resources). If you're already on Workspace, GCP is the natural cloud — same console family, same identities, integrated audit logging. We deploy both for clients who want the unified Google stack.

Do you build infrastructure-as-code on GCP the same way as on AWS?

Yes — Terraform is the default IaC tool for GCP (Google's own Deployment Manager is being deprecated in favor of Config Connector and Terraform). Same review workflow, same rollback capability, same drift detection. We can also integrate with GitHub Actions or Cloud Build for the deploy pipeline.
